Zette Technology Limited (“FarmWhiz”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it when you use the FarmWhiz mobile application and related services.

1.1 Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use FarmWhiz:

• Account information: First name, last name, username, email address, phone number, and password (stored in hashed form).
• Farm and livestock data: Farm name, location, animal records, pregnancy records, medication histories, financial entries, and task records that you create within the app.
• Profile and activity data: Your role within a farm, stocks assigned to you, activity logs, and task completion records.
• Marketplace data: Listings you create, messages sent to buyers or sellers, transaction records, and seller payout information.
• Device and usage data: Device type, operating system version, app version, session data, crash reports, and general usage patterns (collected for performance monitoring).
• Payment data: Payment method identifiers (tokenised by our payment gateway partners — raw card data is never stored on FarmWhiz servers).
• Communications: Messages sent via in-app chat between team members or between buyers and sellers.

1.2 How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your FarmWhiz account
• To enable farm management features — livestock records, pregnancy tracking, medication reminders, task management, and financial reporting
• To facilitate marketplace transactions, including order processing and seller payouts
• To send you reminders, notifications, and alerts relevant to your farm activities
• To provide customer support and respond to enquiries
• To monitor app performance, diagnose issues, and improve the platform
• To comply with legal obligations

1.3 How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

• Within your farm: Farm Owners and Managers can see records and activity logs of Farm Workers assigned to their stocks. External/Visitor users can see only the specific animal profiles explicitly shared with them.
• Marketplace transactions: Buyer and seller usernames, contact details, and listing information are shared between the parties to facilitate a transaction.
• Payment processors: We share necessary transaction data with our payment gateway partners (Paystack, Flutterwave, or equivalent regional providers) to process payments. These partners are bound by their own privacy policies and PCI-DSS compliance obligations.
• Service providers: We use third-party providers for cloud hosting, push notifications, crash reporting, and analytics. These providers access data only to perform services on our behalf.
• Legal obligations: We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of FarmWhiz, our users, or the public.

1.4 Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

• Encryption of all data in transit using TLS 1.3
• Encryption of sensitive data at rest
• Tokenisation of all payment credentials via our gateway partners
• Role-based access controls ensuring users only access data within their authorised scope
• Regular security reviews and monitoring

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights or freedoms, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

1.5 Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• The right to access the personal data we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• The right to request deletion of your account and associated data
• The right to object to or restrict certain processing of your data
• The right to data portability (receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format)
• The right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

1.6 Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes (for example, financial transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years in accordance with applicable financial regulations).

1.7 Cookies and Tracking

The FarmWhiz mobile app does not use cookies. We may collect anonymised, aggregated usage analytics to improve app performance. We do not use third-party advertising networks or tracking pixels.

1.8 Third-Party Links

FarmWhiz may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, educational resource links or marketplace seller external contacts). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their policies independently.

1.9 International Data Transfers

FarmWhiz is operated by Zette Technology Limited, based in Nigeria. Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. Where data is transferred internationally, we apply appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

1.10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of FarmWhiz after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By downloading, installing, or using the FarmWhiz application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create a FarmWhiz account. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and truthful.

2.2 Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately at support@farmwhizapp.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• You may not create accounts for others without their knowledge and consent.

2.3 Acceptable Use

When using FarmWhiz, you agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content — including false animal records, fake marketplace listings, or inaccurate financial data
• Use the platform to harass, abuse, threaten, or harm other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts, farm data, or platform systems
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to scrape or interact with the platform
• List items in the marketplace that are illegal, counterfeit, stolen, or misrepresented
• Circumvent payment processing, escrow protections, or dispute mechanisms
• Use the platform for any purpose that violates applicable laws in your jurisdiction

2.4 Farm Roles and Responsibilities

FarmWhiz operates a role-based access model. By accepting a role on a farm, you agree to:

• Act within the permissions granted to your role
• Maintain the accuracy of records you create or update
• Not share farm invitation codes or QR codes with unauthorised individuals

Farm Owners are responsible for managing user access on their farm and ensuring that workers and managers use the platform appropriately.

2.5 Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, trademarks, and intellectual property within the FarmWhiz application are owned by Zette Technology Limited or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of the data you enter into FarmWhiz (animal records, financial data, community posts, etc.). By submitting content to the platform, you grant FarmWhiz a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

2.6 Disclaimer of Warranties

FarmWhiz is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. Livestock management decisions remain entirely your own responsibility — FarmWhiz provides tools and information but does not constitute veterinary, agricultural, financial, or legal advice.

2.7 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Zette Technology Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of FarmWhiz, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of income, or animal loss.

2.8 Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. You may delete your account at any time from the app settings.

2.9 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection provisions that may apply in your country of residence.

We retain different categories of data for different periods based on their nature and our legal obligations:

• Account data: Retained for the duration of your account. Deleted within 90 days of account deletion request.
• Livestock and farm records: Retained for the duration of your farm's active status. Exported or deleted upon farm closure.
• Financial and transaction records: Retained for a minimum of 7 years in accordance with applicable financial recordkeeping regulations.
• Marketplace messages: Retained for 12 months after the associated order is closed or cancelled.
• Community posts: Retained while the account is active; anonymised or deleted upon account deletion.
• Crash and performance logs: Retained for 90 days on a rolling basis.

The FarmWhiz Marketplace connects buyers and sellers of livestock, farm equipment, and agricultural accessories. By using the Marketplace, you agree to the following additional terms.

4.1 Seller Responsibilities

• All listings must accurately represent the item being sold. Misrepresentation is grounds for immediate account suspension.
• Sellers are responsible for the condition, health, and legality of animals listed for sale.
• Sellers must fulfil confirmed orders promptly and keep buyers informed of dispatch status.
• Sellers must not list illegal, stolen, prohibited, or counterfeit items.
• Sellers must provide accurate bank account or mobile money details for payouts.

4.2 Buyer Responsibilities

• Buyers must complete payment promptly upon order confirmation.
• Buyers must confirm receipt of items within 7 days of dispatch; failure to do so will result in automatic escrow release to the seller.
• Buyers must raise disputes in good faith, supported by genuine evidence.

4.3 Escrow and Payments

All payments are held in escrow by FarmWhiz until the buyer confirms receipt. FarmWhiz charges a platform transaction fee ranging from 2% to 5% per completed transaction, deducted before seller payout. Full fee schedule is disclosed at checkout.

4.4 Prohibited Items

The following may not be listed on the FarmWhiz Marketplace:

• Animals that are diseased, unlicensed for sale, or subject to government movement restrictions
• Counterfeit, stolen, or illegally obtained goods
• Weapons, controlled substances, or any items prohibited under Nigerian law or the laws of the buyer's jurisdiction
• Items unrelated to farming, livestock, or agricultural activities

4.5 Dispute Resolution

Buyers may raise a dispute within 48 hours of confirming receipt, or within 7 days of dispatch if the item has not arrived. FarmWhiz will review evidence from both parties and issue a resolution within 5 business days. FarmWhiz's decision is final unless a legal obligation requires otherwise.

FarmWhiz is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account or provided personal information through FarmWhiz, please contact us immediately at privacy@farmwhizapp.com and we will delete the relevant data promptly.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a person under 18, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our systems.
